“DMC: Devil May Cry” Gets Release Date!
At first, I was quite apprehensive about Dante’s new look. His white, anime-styled locks were gone and replaced by the emo-black short haircut of this rebooted Dante. But as I watched the production and development of Ninja Theory’s DMC: Devil May Cry my fragile mind begin to shift. This new Dante is hot.
PAX East – Two Cons, One Day!
Saturday was the day I actually attended the convention. I woke up and watched my standard cartoons and then got dressed in my Litchi from Blazblue costume. I headed over to the convention as was impressed by how huge the show floor was. Compared to PAX Prime, I think I liked how East was set up a bit better. Although still as crowded as the Seattle show, all of the East show floor was in one huge room that could be seen from atop the escalators as a wonderland of flashing lights and bustling crowds. I found the walkways to be more spacious then Prime (or as spacious as they can be with so many people still packed into them).
PAX East – Wheels Down in Boston + Party Woes!
On Friday, April 6th, I arrived in Boston unfashionably late for my first PAX East. After Prime this past August, I was hooked on the event. It had quickly become my favorite event only rivaled by Dragon*Con in Atlanta, Georgia. Unfortunately Prime and D*Con ended up on the same weekend this year so my only option to get more of the wonderful Penny Arcade Expo was to make the trek up north for East(er). Yes, PAX Easter became a bit of a joke amongst us hip, video game con-goers considering the unfortunate scheduling that landed the event on Easter. It is the first time I have missed Easter with my family, but I think they understood how important it was for me to get to Boston.
Planning for PAX East was a nightmare. I booked my hotel, the Seaport Boston, back when the blocks first opened up in November, but did not get a pass until a week before the con thanks to an eBay auction. I was highly impressed with the Seaport Boston as they were a very accomdating hotel with a friendly staff that helped me (and were very understanding) of a financial debacle that arose during the weekend there. Our room was on the topmost floor with an incredible view and was very spacious. It had a Kuerig, – I’ve always wanted to use one! – a huge bathroom, a gigantic bed, and a nice television. There was also free wi-fi which was a huge bonus. The elevators were very speedy. The hotel was also very quiet which is always a plus for me since some convention hotels can be so very noisy in the wee hours of the morning (Animazement, especially for some reason).
Pink, Sparkly Zombie Apocalypse – Lollipop Chainsaw Most Anticipated Game
I just got back from PAX East and Anime Boston! It was such a great weekend and I really enjoyed being at PAX. Although I played the demo back at PAX Prime in Seattle, I stalked the Lollipop Chainsaw booth again because it truly is my most anticipated game this year. I’ve always been such a fan of quirky, Japanese titles. Suda51 is probably one of my favorites only because he’s the genius behind No More Heroes, one of my top ten favorite video games ever. Since I’m an ex-cheerleader, LolliChain drew me in first with featuring a cheerleader protagonist. Throw in a chainsaw, some zombies, and pink hearts and you have a game that was made specifically for me.
Vacationing in Barsoom – John Carter review
John Carter was, perhaps, the first movie this year that I was excited to see. I had been following the movie for some time, devouring every bit of information about it that I could. The only thing I have not done yet is read the original book. Last night I got to experience Barsoom in gorgeous, IMAX glory.
A Break From Your Scheduled Programming
It is amazing the people that still encourage me to pursue my dreams, especially when I’m passive-aggressively going off at the ‘mouth’ on twitter. It’s difficult sometimes focusing on the big picture when there is so much on your plate at the present time. So I enjoy seeing messages like this:
It felt good having someone that I look up to telling me to keep writing, keep blogging, and keep pursuing my dream goals. The motto is YOLO: You Only Live Once. And I do not want to settle into a career or a lifestyle that does not make me happy.
Brawl At The Beach – fighting game tournament
The various video game fight clubs around the country always make me jealous. They’re usually in cities far from my southern town with a variety of fighting games, awesome people, and healthy dose of competition. So yesterday when I was told about Brawl At the Beach, a game tournament held in Myrtle Beach, I decided to go check it out.
I was not dissapointed.
Goodbye 2011!
As the clock ticks away the seconds towards an entire new year ripe with new experiences and expectations, I take the time to reflect on this past year which was truly incredible. Twenty Eleven was the best year I have had since Twenty ‘O Five. I have made so many memories with so many people. I would not have it any other way. So, here is one last farewell post for 2011 with many hopes and wishes that 2012 will be an even greater year.

Happy Holidays! From Your Friendly Neighborhood Cape-wearing Gal <3

Whether you’re braving the crazy Holiday crowds, working in retail, spending countless amounts of time with loved ones, or being a scrooge not feeling the season, have a wonderful Holiday weekend. Let’s all head straight into 2012 thinking positive thoughts and sending good vibes to one another.
To be honest, I just started feeling in the Christmas spirit over the past week. Work had a great holiday party with copious amounts of food and joyous singing. Work also hung decorations and I helped put up one of the Christmas trees. Mom’s decorations around the house are always gorgeous so seeing them finally come together increased my Spirit HP bar. Last weekend, shopping for family gave me yet another power boost. Finally, I wrapped those gifts last night which filled my bar and got me super spirited. I’m so excited for tomorrow.
